Prices are the whole job as quoted: labour, setting materials, waterproofing and demo where the job had it. Tile is its own line on every estimate; on most of these jobs the homeowner supplied it. Median bathroom job: about $5,500.

What is behind the old tile
A mortar-bed shower or rotted subfloor adds demo and repair time. We check on site before the price is final.
Tile size and type
Large-format tile (24" and up) and small mosaics both take longer to set than standard sizes.
Niches and benches
Each built-in niche is a set line on the estimate; a bench is more.
Moving the drain or valve
That's plumbing. Your plumber moves it; we connect a Kerdi drain where it lands.
Heated floor
A heating cable under the floor tile adds material and a day.
Who supplies the tile
Tile is its own line. Bring your own, or we supply it at cost plus a small markup.

How much does a walk-in tile shower cost in Boston?
On our jobs, turning a tub into a walk-in tile shower has run $5,800–$6,500, and rebuilding a failed shower from the studs $6,000–$7,700. Tile, plumbing and glass are priced separately.
How long does a shower remodel take?
Two days for a shower floor rebuild, about four for a tub-to-shower conversion, four to five for a full rebuild. The estimate states the number of days up front.
Can I get a price without a visit?

Is a tile shower worth it over an acrylic insert?
