Subway and 3x6-plus tile go up in a day. Mosaics and small chips take about twice as long.
Old backsplash to tear out
Removing tile usually damages the drywall behind it, so tear-out adds patching, haul-away and often a day.
Outlets, windows and edges
Every outlet, window return and open edge is extra cutting. Exposed edges get a metal or tile trim.

Most kitchens are 25–35 sq ft. A full wall behind the range or up to the ceiling is priced by the foot.
